"Why," demanded Ron, seizing her timetable "have you outlined all Lockhart's lessons in little hearts?"
Hermione snatched the timetable back, flushing furiously.

"All the copies of Hogwarts, A History have been taken out," she said, sitting down next to Harry and Ron. "And there's a two-week waiting list. I wish I hadn't left my copy at home, but I couldn't fit it in my trunk with all the Lockhart books."

Chapter 13
"What is that?" asked Harry, poinying to something gold sticking out from under Hermione's pillow.
"Just a get well card," said Hermione hastily, trying to poke it out of sight, but Ron was too quick for her. He pulled it out, flicked it ope, and read aloud:
"To Miss Granger, wishing you a speedy recovery, from your concerned teacher, Professor Gilderoy Lockhart, Order of Merlin Third Class, Honorary Member of the Dark Force Defence League and five times winner of Witch Weekly's Most-Charming-Smile Award."
Ron looked up at Hermione, disgusted.
"You sleep with this under your pillow?"

"Happy Valentine's Day!" Lockhart shouted. "And may I thank the forty-six people who have so far sent me cards!" Yes, I have taken the liberty of arranging this little surprise for you all - and it doesn't end here!"....
"Please, Hermione, tell me you weren't one of the forty-six," said Ron as they left the Great Hall for their first lesson.
Hermione suddenly became very interested in searching her bag for her time table and didn't answer.
